Interface between traffic models and GIS

VeGIS develops concepts and technical solutions for the synchronization of data between traffic models and geographical information systems.
Test routines contribute to the quality improvement of traffic-related data concerning traffic information systems as well as to traffic development plans and subsequently developed technical plans. The project generates a basis for a continually expandable and better maintainable set of data relating to transport and mobility.

Guidelines for high-quality public bus transport

The European project PROCEED has developed guidelines to help decision makers and transport planners efficiently and effectively plan, develop, upgrade, finance and manage urban bus systems and related mobility services. Detailed analysis of data and experiences of 67 small and medium sized European cities in 24 European countries has led to a better understanding of success factors and pitfalls for efficient and effective public bus transport. Based on the outcomes of this analysis work and based on the findings of previous studies and projects, PROCEED is developing guidelines and tools to support planners, operators and decision makers in order to improve the quality of public transport. These tools include all aspects of public transport planning and operation and are accessible for free on www.proceedproject.net
